Reality Recon ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Reality Recon mobile application and website at realityrecon.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

By using our app or website, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Email address — used to create and manage your account.
• Password — stored securely via Firebase Authentication; we never see your plaintext password.
• Display name — the name shown on leaderboards and in watch parties.
• Profile photo — if you choose to upload one. Stored in Firebase Storage.
• Game data — your houseguest rankings, weekly predictions, and watch party activity.

Information collected automatically:

• Device push token — collected via Expo Notifications to send you deadline reminders and score updates. Only collected if you grant notification permission.
• Basic usage data — Firebase may collect anonymous analytics (e.g., app crashes, screen views) to help us improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To display your name and score on leaderboards.
• To calculate and update your fantasy points.
• To send you push notifications about prediction deadlines and score updates (only if you opt in).
• To allow you to create and join watch parties with friends.
• To improve app performance and fix bugs.

We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to third parties.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Other users — your display name, profile photo, and score are visible to other app users on leaderboards and within watch parties you join.
• Service providers — we use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information is removed immediately from our systems, and any residual copies are purged within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Game data (rankings, predictions, scores) may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form for historical records.

5. Children's Privacy

Reality Recon is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Your Rights and Choices

• Access and correction — you can update your display name and profile photo at any time from the Profile screen.
• Push notifications — you can disable push notifications at any time in your device's notification settings.
• Account deletion — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly in the app from Profile → Delete Account. You may also contact us at the email below.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices including Firebase Authentication for secure login and Firebase Security Rules to restrict data access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Third-Party Links

The app may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., network or streaming sites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
